Phishing...
I know none of you wonderful folks are likely to fall for such as this, but thought I'd let people know just in case.
I just received this:
"Greetings,
It has come to our attention that you are trying to sell your personal World of Warcraft account(s). As you may not be aware of, this conflicts with the EULA and Terms of Agreement. If this proves to be true, your account can and will be disabled. It will be ongoing for further investigation by Blizzard Entertainment's employees. If you wish to not get your account suspended you should immediately verify your account ownership.

Which all looks absolutely hunky dory until you notice that their links actually would take you to a "World of Wazcraft page" and undoubtedly something very unpleasant........
so, for those of you old enough to remember
"Hey, Let's be careful out there"

This advice applies for a wide variety of situations.
Re: Phishing...
I got those alot before I changed my account email address. I just loved some of the spelling and grammar, like "Blizzard Entertainmen" wasn't a give away it was fake!
The best advice I have is if you get one that you aren't sure of then go you account via the WoW community site and log in there as normal, and don't go via any links.

Nice to have instigated conversation, just sad that no-one picked up on my "Hey, Let's be careful out there" quote

Re: Phishing...
So, it wasn't exactly phishing, but it IS WoW related..... I had a phone call this early afternoon from someone claiming they were from our local PC maintainance office, and from Microsoft. I'm usually a complete bitch with unsolicited phone calls, and this one was just perfectly timed for me being uberbitch, as I was right by Tank in Tol Barad when I was herbing, and it got me killed in game.
Was classic though, they were all offended that I was "So, what are you selling...." and "Oh, it's for Microsoft errors, huh? Why the eff haven't you contacted me before, then?" I was completely determined to make their phonecall hell. They fhung up when they FINALLY realised I wasn't going to fall for it.
Yes, the scammers are still running this.

Basically they're preying on people who'll fall for their spiel, and think this is an official call. Though if it happens again, I'll call their bluff with an "Oh, really? I run Linux on a Mac....."
